Christmas is never quite what I expect. Is this a good thing or bad thin? I guess its a bit of both but at times I just wish it were over. My family is so unique. I am sure that if I told you about the things we discuss you would be quite surprised but for me its just another holiday with the fam. For instance, my christmas present wasn't a pair of uggs or even dish towels, no I got a hamster. And I also got some sports bras which are a little less unexpected for a college freshman living in a dorm room with no room for a hamster even if that hamster would be allowed to live there. Ok, so you might have been thrown by the hamster but I bet you wouldn't expect what happened the next morning. My mom walks into the living room with the hamster and tells us that it is dying. Thats right one day later and its already ready to take its leave of us. That doesn't mean that we gave up the hamster without a fight. We fed Nadia, the dwarf white russian hamster, corn sirope, which if you don't know from growing up on a farm, is a sure way to raise an animals blood sugar levels fast. She didn't make it however, so we ended up going out and getting a hardier one, good luck hamster.
So after the hamster debacle I went to the hotel where a family friend is staying while she visits over the holidays with my family which is staying with my grandma in Mesa, AZ. It is lovely outside here with temperatures in the sixties and the sun out all day with no clouds in sight. This being the case my brother and I decided to go for a swim in the outdoor pool at the hotel. Before getting in the pool I decided that I would go workout in the exercise room for a bit. This proved to be a slightly flawed plan however as there were only five machines there, a bowflex, bike, old stepping machine of some sort, and two treadmills. The newer of the treadmills was out of order however, so I decided to use the bike. This may have also been a bad decision because the bike was not entirely what I would call "in order". Every few minutes it would randomly turn off and I would have to start it up all over again. Given my habit of being quite impatient it might be expected that I would give up and try a new machine but I kept restarting the machine for over 40 mins. After I finished working out my brother, Sam, and I hit the pool.
